Southeast
- State of Rio
o Rio de Janeiro ( city): Must See city in Brazil. You should fly to and from Rio and spend a few days in the “ wonderful city “.
o Buzios: Location of the wedding ! Under 3 hours away from Rio, Armação de Búzios (or Búzios) is a Brazilian resort set on an ocean peninsula east of Rio de Janeiro. It’s known as an upscale vacation destination with numerous beaches.
o Paraty: Charming little town in the southern tip of the Rio de Janeiro state. Once a thriving gold port, it is now a popular artist refuge and tourist hotspot, with its Portuguese colonial architect and outstanding natural wonders undoubtedly its key appeals.
o Ilha Grande: One of the most beautiful islands of Brazil’s famous ‘Costa Verde’ (Green Coast). Ilha Grande’s close proximity to the city, natural beauty and wealth of activities on offer for visitors make it a perfect destination for weekend getaways.
- State of Sao Paulo :
o Sao Paulo ( city ): Brazil’s vibrant financial center, is among the world’s most populous cities, with numerous cultural institutions and a rich architectural tradition.
- Minas Gerais:
o Ouro Preto: A colonial town , Ouro Preto is known for its baroque facades, intricately-designed churches, and winding, cobbled streets. Its incredible architecture turned Ouro Preto into Brazil’s first UNESCO World Heritage Site.
South Region
- Foz do Iguacu: one of the largest waterfalls in the world . Stretching for 2.7km, and straddling the border with Argentina, the falls comprise hundreds of cascades, including the 80m-tall Devil’s Throat.
- Florianopolis: It’s famous for its beaches, including popular resort areas combining natural beauty with historical charm.
Northeast Region
(Region comprising 9 states, it has a serene nature and environment and so many undiscovered places. If you are wondering what places to visit in Brazil, we definitely recommend adding some Northern Brazil destinations to your list).
- State Of Bahia :
o Salvador – Capital of the state , known for its Portuguese colonial architecture, Afro-Brazilian culture and a tropical coastline.
o Chapada Diamantina: Displays a scene of towering rock formations and vast plains covered with typical vegetation from the Cerrado biome. The right destination for trekking lovers and a must see if your near Salvador.
- State of Alagoas:
o Maceio : Capital of Alagoas, another option to fly to and explore the beaches around such as Maragogi.
o São Miguel dos Milagres: Perfect destination for those who wish to enjoy days of calmness in chic inns, amid a backdrop of almost untouched nature, staying in beaches that are almost wild.
- State of Pernambuco :
o Fernando de Noronha: The archipelago of Fernando de Noronha is a UNESCO World Heritage Site with a delicate ecosystem. Visitors are restricted, but the lucky few are rewarded with nrivalled beaches and soothing warm waters filled with dolphins and sea turtles, making Noronha one of the world’s top diving destinations.
o Recife/Olinda: Brazil`s fourth-largest city and capital of Pernambuco , is distinguished by its many rivers, bridges, islets and peninsulas. It is also a great place to fly to from Rio and then take the road to explore beautiful beaches such as Carneiros Beach, Muro Alto and Porto de Galinhas.
- State of Rio Grande do Norte:
o Natal and Pipa: Considered to be one of Brazil’s ten most beautiful beaches, Pipa boasts stunning scenery and nature. Home to a portion of the Atlantic Rainforest and cliffs overlooking a chain of coves, Pipa has always attracted visitors from all over the world. Included is a stop at the beach of Madeira and the village of Pipa with free time for shopping and swimming. This natural scenery is a must see when visiting Natal.
- State of Ceara:
o Jericoacara: Small fishing village, a mecca of windsurfing and kitesurfing, in the state of Ceará, Brazil. Located around 300 km west of Fortaleza. Jeri is the kind of idyllic place where many travelers end up deciding to stay for longer than they had originally planned.
- State of Maranhao
o Lencois Maranhenses National Park: Vast area of undulating, swept sand dunes between which rainwater lakes form at certain times of the year. The result is midnight blue lakes offset by brilliant white dunes, and the option to explore them on foot, on four legs or on wheels. If you can carve out the time to travel to the north-east and spend a few days exploring here, do. You won’t regret it.
